Built by people who used to refresh 12 tabs every Monday morning.
DiffScout is a small team that thinks competitive pricing intelligence should cost less than one missed price drop, and feel less like enterprise software and more like a thoughtful colleague.
The 9:42am email that started it.
Before DiffScout, the founder ran growth at a D2C apparel brand. Every Monday at 9am he'd open the same twelve tabs — competitor pricing pages, Sephora category sorts, screenshot folders — and try to spot what had moved over the weekend. By Tuesday lunch he'd have missed two drops and matched a third too late. The job was simple enough that an intern should have done it, and complex enough that no intern stayed past month two.
Existing tools assumed you had a SKU catalog, an API team, and an annual contract. The founder had none of those and a competitor whose price had dropped at 9:42am while he was still reading email. So he built the smallest possible tool that solved exactly that — paste a URL, get the email — and it kept being the right tool as the company grew.
That's still what DiffScout is: the smallest possible price monitor that actually works. No SKU matching, no integrations to wire up, no implementation week.
Three things we're stubborn about.
Speed of insight beats depth of dashboard.
An alert in your inbox at 9:43am beats a chart you remember to check on Friday. Every product decision flows from this — we'd rather ship a tool that does one thing in 60 seconds than ten things that take an afternoon to set up.
Pricing intelligence shouldn't require a contract.
$29/month with a 14-day Pro trial isn't a starter tier — it's the actual price. The 50-page enterprise PDF and the ‘contact sales’ modal are operational tax we don't want to charge our customers.
Editorial design isn't decoration.
Most competitor tools look like Bloomberg terminals built by people who hate working in them. Ours looks like a publication people enjoy reading because the team using it deserves something better than a sea of cards and pie charts.
Small, intentional, accountable.
We're a team of three. We answer our own emails (hello@diffscout.com), we ship the changelog ourselves (see what's new), and the price you see on the pricing page is the price our largest customer pays.
If you ever want to know who's touching your competitor's pricing data on your behalf — that's us, by name, with a return email address.
